Marvellous location near the old harbour

cleanliness in the shower, curtain in the room was torn. i reported the problem. however, nothing was corrected!

suites in the old building in front beautiful. normal rooms in the house in the yard in bad condition (80s / run-down)

suite to the street too loud!. take breakfast better in the city than in the hotel; old market of la rochelle (open in summer 7/7 from 9-13h30) is around the corner. there are beautiful cafes, bars and restaurants.

This place has newly remodeled double rooms and a very clean bed, alongside an astonishing restaurant offering a wide choice of light dishes, excellent service, and a lovely pool.

Great location, stylish entrance area/bar. Nice beds, Very good breakfast.

We booked a suite at top price expecting a lounge and bedroom. In fact we got a slightly bigger than usual entrance hall with a kitchenette in the corner! The fridge was welcome but why would we want frying pans and a cooker on a luxury weekend break?! The bedroom was small and no air conditioning on a baking hot day. Even Premier Class hotels have ac! A fan was provided but one of the wall sockets did not work so we had to unplug the bedside lights to use it. The bathroom had flaky plaster all around the top of the walls and the windows were dirty and had smudgy hand marks clearly visible. The hallway outside was scruffy and there was a dusty and broken vase of fake flowers and a general musty smell. The elevator was not clean and generally, the place just appeared a bit down at heel and not very carefully attended.

There was the savoury and wonderful breakfast, loved the location.

The hotel was quaint and clean, had magnificent views of old town. I had neat and recently renovated prestige queen suite. A walk-in shower was good-sized and everything was really good. The location was excellent and incredible - ease...  

We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a spacious and modern suite with two separate beds.

Maintenance needs to improve .. ie paint around the lift etc appearance very poor around the lift area

There is a garage: it's convenient to drive in, but there aren't many places. There's probably no advantage to that anymore.

It's not five, it's a good three. it's in everything.

The hotel in La Rochelle, Maison Des Ambassadeurs, offers a great vacation stay. The rooms are nicely furnished and the hotel is spacious and smoke-free. Its beautiful location is just a 15-minute walk from the train station....  

Hotel was very comfortable, rooms spacious and staff welcoming. Parking on site was a bonus. Good position for visiting, shopping and restaurants.

Bedrooms in need of some redecoration and coffee/tea sachets in the bedrooms would be nice.

Great location for shopping / eating and wandering the city .

We were not initially allocated the room grade we had booked ( and felt " palmed off " by this ) also that room had a broken bidet which had been pieced back together and just left ( The hotel claimed they knew nothing of this which I found bizarre as the cleaners couldnt have failed to notice as the pieces fell away when touched !! ) . After raisng the issues with the hotel , we were allocated the correct room size and facitilies but felt we should have been given this in the first place .

The suite I stayed in was beautifully renovated and included a comfortable sofa bed, plus the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in solving any problems that arose during my stay.

Good location, large room, good to have a small swimming pool.

Room would benefit from a bit of work - cracks/peeling paint etc.

Wonderful location, clean and tidy, with a touch of luxury about the hotel together with very helpful staff. Lovely bar and poolside area and really convenient lifts that mean you don't have to cart around luggage too far....
